I have built a LOT of Joomla websites over the past few years. I go through the typical steps.
Register Domain Name- FTP Joomla files up to Webserver
- Create new database
- Run installer
- Delete \ Rename installation directory
- Install Joomla Template
- Add additional Components \ Modules
- Add Content
- Keep up with security updates
- etc… etc…
